Mazda SkyActiv Technology
When the components of a system are engineered to work together, that system will operate at peak efficiency. This is the simple idea behind Mazda Skyactiv Technology. But efficiency isn’t the only benefit. It can also deliver a superior drive.
Cylinder deactivation
Mazda’s 2.5 L Skyactiv-G engine is available with the company’s innovative Cylinder Deactivation technology. This system shuts down two of the engine’s four cylinders in light-load situations, such as when cruising at a constant speed, in order to seamlessly enhance efficiency.
Mazda’s sustainable vision for 2030
Mazda sees it as their mission to bring about a beautiful earth and to enrich people’s lives as well as society. We will continue to seek ways to inspire people through the value found in cars. Mazda Motor Corporation has announced “Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030,” a new long-term vision for technology development that looks ahead to the year 2030. As part of the new technology to achieve this vision, the company disclosed plans to introduce a next-generation engine called Skyactiv-X in 2019. Skyactiv-X will be the world’s first commercial gasoline engine to use compression ignition.
Electrification technology
The Mazda MX-30 is our first zero-emission, fully electric vehicle. This exciting model adopts Mazda’s new electric-drive technology, e-Skyactiv, and combines outstanding response with smooth dynamic behavior to achieve performance that drivers can enjoy nature.
Promoting vehicle recycling
Mazda is actively engaged in recycling plastic automobile parts. We focus in particular on recycling bumpers and have created bumper-to-bumper recycling technology for these large plastic parts to be used as material for new bumpers.
Single nanotechnology
Automobile catalytic converters are comprised of precious metals that turn harmful emissions into harmless ones when gases are exposed to the surface. Mazda took advantage of single nanotechnology to realize a new and unique catalyst structure in which precious metal particles are individually embedded into the base material. Single nanotechnology is a technology to control finer materials structures than nanotechnology.
As you can see, the Mazda brand is very aware of the environment and making huge strides in energy efficiency and low emissions.
